How to Connect Hoist with PaintScout

Hoist can automatically send your new estimate appointments to PaintScout using Zapier. Zapier is a bridge between Hoist and PaintScout and can also be used to connect your account to other third party services as well. The setup process is broken into three parts:

  1. Connecting PaintScout with Zapier
  2. Configuring new estimate appointments to sync with PaintScout
  3. Making new jobs appear in Hoist when a quote is accepted in PaintScout

IMPORTANT

  • Before starting this tutorial, you need to log in to your Zapier account or create a new account. If you don't already have one, create one here: https://zapier.com/pricing. We recommend getting the starter plan.
  • Before starting this tutorial, create a test estimate appointment in your Hoist account. This information will be used to test the Zap.

1. Connecting PaintScout with Zapier

1. Click this link to access the invite page that will add PaintScout to your app list in Zapier: https://zapier.com/developer/public-invite/110514/e245502a132a9e19fc7f9fc3fa3b5e4f/

2. When the confirmation dialog appears, click Accept Invite & Build a Zap. This will connect PaintScout to your Zapier account. Once finished, you can begin creating zaps and start sending information to other applications.

2. Configuring new estimate appointments to sync with PaintScout

1. Click the orange Create Zap button in the top menu.

2. Search for Hoist in the search bar.

3. Select the New Estimate Appointment trigger and then click Continue.

4. Click Sign in to connect your Hoist account

5. Enter your Hoist login credentials (email and password) and click Yes, continue

6. Click Continue (make sure your Hoist account is selected in the Hoist (1.0.0) account dropdown

7. Click Test trigger

🚨 Be sure you have created a test estimate appointment in Hoist before continuing. Zapier will use this estimate appointment as test data during this setup process.

8. Select the estimate appointment you created for this test then click Continue

9. Search for PaintScout and select it - PaintScout (1.0.9) - from the dropdown.

10. Select Create Quote then click Continue.

11. Click Sign in to connect your PaintScout (1.0.9) account

12. Click Continue

13. Map your fields as shown below.

Note: The following data will be also available:

  • Estimate appointment creation date
  • Estimator ID
  • Estimator full name
  • Project details

14. Click Continue and then Test & Continue

15. Click Publish Zap and Publish & Turn On in the popup window

Your zap should now be setup and will start sending new estimate appointments scheduled in Hoist into your PaintScout account automatically! Go to your PaintScout account and check to make sure the test estimate appointment went over successfully.

3. Making new jobs appear in Hoist when a quote is accepted in PaintScout

1. Click the orange Create Zap button in the top menu.

2. Search for PaintScout and select it - PaintScout (1.0.9)

3. Select the Quote Status Changed trigger / event and then click Continue.

4. Select your PaintScout account or click Sign in to connect to your PaintScout account, if you didn’t do it already.

5. Click Continue

6. Set up the trigger as shown below and click Continue

7. Click Test & Continue

8. Click the + icon at the bottom to add a new step to your zap

9. Search for Hoist in the search bar.

10. Select Create Job then click Continue.

11. Select your Hoist account or click Sign in to connect to your Hoist account, if you didn’t do it already, then click Continue.

12. Set up action as shown below, then click Continue

Please note in the screenshot above we set the job date 2 days from creation date but you may want to choose a different duration that better suits your needs.

13. Click Test & Continue

14. Click Publish Zap and Publish & Turn On in the popup window

Your zap should now be setup. It will automatically create new jobs in Hoist any time a customer accepts a quote in your PaintScout account! Go to your Hoist account and check to make sure the test estimate created the job in Hoist successfully.
